| A NOTE ABOUT MY POTTERY & ME....I HAVE BEEN BUYING, SELLING & TRADING POTTERY FOR OVER 13 YEARS & I HAVE ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF ITS HISTORY, BEAUTY, & RARITY. ALWAYS ENJOYED IT WHEN A CLIENT, NEW OR OLD WOULD COME INTO MY SHOP & SPEND THEIR TIME ADMIRING THE BEAUTY OF MY ITEMS. MOST OF THE POTTERY JEWELRY LOVERS ALWAYS COMMENTED THAT IN THEIR TRAVELS & SEARCHING, THEY HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH A FINE & VAST COLLECTION & WOULD TELL ME THAT I HAD A GOOD EYE & OR WAS VERY LUCKY. WELL IT WAS A BIT OF BOTH. MOST OF THE HUNDREDS OF PIECES OF POTTERY ARE ABOUT GONE & I MISS ALL OF THEM. I HAVE BEEN OUT OF CIRCULATION FOR ONE YEAR NOW BUT MAY BE GETTING BACK INTO THAT AREA. SINCE I DON'T PLAN ON OPENING ANOTHER STORE FRONT AT THIS TIME, I WILL BE DOING THIS WEB SITE... BECAUSE I WANT TO CONCENTRATE ON WRITING SOME BOOKS I HAVE BEEN PLANNING FOR YEARS. NOTES ABOUT POTTERY SHOULD YOU NOT KNOW! MANY COMPANIES IN THE EARLY YEARS DID NOT SIGN THEIR POTTERY, THEY USED PAPER STICKER LABELS WITH THEIR LOGO WHICH WERE USUALLY PLACED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PIECE. MANY PEOPLE WASHED THEM OFF ON PURPOSE OR BECAUSE THE PIECE NEEDED CLEANING & THE LABEL WOULD DISAPPEAR EVENTUALLY. IF AN EARLIER PIECE IS FOUND WITH LABEL IN TACT IT WILL BRING A PREMIUM OF 10 TO 20% ABOVE NORMAL PRICE. COLOR, PATTERN, PRODUCTION NUMBERS, & OF COURSE CONDITION ALL HAVE A BEARING ON THE PRICE. SO MANY PRICE COLLECTOR BOOKS ARE OUT THERE, & EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT PRICES. SO BASED ON YOUR KNOWLEDGE & THE TIME YOU HAVE SPENT HUNTING FOR AN ITEM OR YOUR APPRECIATION FOR THE ITEMS BEAUTY, YOU HAVE TO GO WITH YOU GUT FEELING & PURSE. ANOTHER POINT. WILL YOU EVER FIND ANOTHER PIECE LIKE THE ONE YOU SEE NOW? I WILL ADD MORE NOTES LATER. THERE IS SO MUCH INFO OUT THERE & IN MY HEAD IT IS HARD TO RELATE IT ALL, BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT ME. I WILL DO MY BEST TO ANSWER THEM. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME & THANKS FOR LOOKING!! |
